There’s been a huge trend hitting all of my favorite stores this spring: Modern Utility Pieces. I never pictured myself saying, “Heck yes, I want ALL the baggy khaki clothing!!” but… I’m LOVING this trend! And, I will say that Utility clothing has gotten a major face-lift this spring. All the pieces I’ve seen are SO cute and really flattering!!

So I did a little research and it turns out that Utility clothing originated in Great Britain during the 2nd World War and was a way to limit using funds and resources on frivolous items, such as clothing. I found a great article online if you want to read more about it, just click HERE.

My favorite items I’ve seen hit the stores lately have a baggier, almost boyfriend style fit but come in at the waist so you don’t loose your figure. Many pieces also include large buttons and mainly use the colors white / linen, khaki, and olive. All give a nod to the Utility style from the 1940s but are updated for a modern look.

Below I’m linking all of my favorite Utility pieces I’ve seen lately, including a few that I own! You can click any of the gold links to shop the pieces / get a better look and everything is also linked at the end of the post in a clickable gallery.
