There are SO many good pairs of distressed denim out this spring! I love a good pair of distressed denim, but it can be hard finding one with the right amount of distressing for your taste and is super flattering. The mom jean is SUPER popular right now, but every pair seems to have a different fit! That’s why I decided to do a huge distressed denim haul and write an honest review about each pair including fit, shape, and material.
I’ve linked the denim below each picture and I also linked my office furniture at the end! I picked denim from three different retailers ranging in price from $22-$88 (but.. the higher priced ones often go on sale for less than $40!) This is the only pair I already owned and I’m SO happy they brought them back this year! This pair is extremely flattering, has good stretch, and are super comfortable! * True to size
SUPER flattering mom jean! Has busted knee distressing + slightly frayed hem that curves around the ankle. If 5’3″ or under I recommend getting the Short. * Go down 1 size
This is one of the darker pairs. Cute distressing, not too much. Have a looser / baggier fit around the legs. If 5’4″ or under I recommend getting the Short. * True to size
My favorite pair of distressed mom jeans! Super flattering, great fit around the legs. The wash is really pretty (light with a touch of acid). Get the short if 5’3″ and under. * Go down 1 size
This pair is only $22!!! Really nice quality for the price. Not as thick as the pairs above, but still a great material. Looser fit around / down through the legs. Petite friendly! * On the edge of needing to go down 1 size. I suggest buying your normal size & 1 size down and return the one that doesn’t work.
This pair is also only $22! Really nice distressing and a bit more form fitting that the above pair. Lighter material and very comfortable. * Go down 1-2 sizes
If you want more distressing this pair of mom jeans is perfect! Really comfy, nice light wash, and has a looser fit. Definitely get the Short if 5’3″ and under * Go down 1 size
This is my second favorite pair out of all the mom jeans! This one is called the ‘Stretch Mom Jean’ and as soon as I put them on I could tell they were more comfortable that the other pairs. They definitely do have good stretch and I love the distressing on them! Get the Short if 5’3″ and under. * Go down 1 size
If you’re looking for looser fit, more of a boyfriend jean, with not too much distressing this pair is for you! Super comfortable fit and I love the medium wash. Note I’m wearing the Reg here and definitely needed the Short (5’4″ and under girls). * Go down 1 size
This pair is a little different from the others. It has a lower waist and is much more fitted through the hips and legs. Distressing is really cute and they came pre-rolled at the bottom. Again, get the short if 5’3″ and under. * True to size
If you’re looking for a dark wash skinny jean, I love this option! Not too much distressing and really comfortable. Again, got the Short option. * True to size
Rounding it out with my favorite pair of distressed skinny jeans! This pair is SO flattering! The distressing is cute and not too much, it’s a mix of light / medium wash (super pretty!), and there is an asymmetric raw hem. They are also have good stretch and are very comfortable. Basically, I’m in love with these jeans! 🙂 These are considered ankle jeans so I got the Reg. * True to size
