This is my second year doing the Rustic Christmas Tree Decor and I love it even more this year!! Last year I convinced Chris to let me go out and buy all-new ornaments for the tree and he reluctantly agreed 🙂 I use lots of wood ornaments, burlap, buffalo plaid, and touches of gold & silver. Surprisingly, my husband said he loved it!! He said it definitely fits more with the cozy farmhouse decor we have in the house.

I absolutely love how the rustic Christmas tree decor makes the tree look cozy and really compliments the natural look of the tree. Also feel like I don’t have to put as many ornaments on the tree and it still looks amazing! I stuck with neutral tones (brown, black, & white), but did add in some red touches here and there (I added more this year and love how it turned out!)

About My Artificial Tree

Linking my 7.5 ft flocked Christmas tree below, as well as all of my ornaments. I will say, this tree does sell out quickly every year! Here are some reasons why I love this tree:

  • LED lights that should never burn out
  • Has both White and Colored lights & a remote with 9 different functions + a timer
  • Easy connect poles so you don’t have to plug the sections into each other
  • The flocking is beautiful but not super messy (and very easy to clean up)
  • Very affordable but amazing quality!

Tips: How To Get That ‘Wow’ Factor With Your Christmas Tree Decorations

It may sound silly, but I used to walk into Hobby Lobby & Kirkland’s and dream about having a tree that looked like the ones they had decorated in their stores! But for years I could never seem to find the right decor or get the placement of ornaments right to achieve my dream look. Last year I decided to not be so ‘matchy’ and just pick out ornaments I loved and it all came together!

Don’t pick one specific color to decorate with, pick a Tone / Family of Colors

Picking a color palette rather than just one or two colors will ensure everything doesn’t look too ‘matchy’ but still looks cohesive together! Again, I chose a mix of neutrals (white, beige, and brown) but also added in some red for a pop of color and some gold to balance it out.

Mix different textures!

I use a mix of wood and metal ornaments (even some faux fur ones) and it helps everything stand out on the tree.

Add Greenery or Branches

I use faux eucalyptus branches and it’s my favorite part of the tree! It helps to create a more natural look and also some dimension since they stick out from the tree.

Add Ribbon for dimension and a soft touch

I love using ribbon because you can style it so many different ways on the tree! Just play around with it until you find the look you like 🙂

Set some Ornaments almost Inside the Tree

This helps to add dimension to the tree to where it almost looks like ‘layers’ of ornaments

Add in some Oversized Ornaments

I had ordered some bells and a ski wall decoration that I planned to use as decor for around the house. My husband thought they were for the tree and hung them up, and they ended up looking AMAZING! I learned that it definitely gives it that ‘wow’ factor when you add in a few oversized items.
