I’m 3 weeks from my due date (SO CLOSE!!) so I put together a Postpartum Recovery Essentials kit for my bathroom this week. I wanted to have all the essentials in one place to make it easier on myself, so I just made a little basket to leave near our toilet.

Since I’m a new mom I did LOTS of research on what to have on-hand for recovery after labor & delivery. I’ve read other blogs, watched lots of TikTok videos, done polls on Instagram, and of course asked friends & family to get a well-rounded idea of what’s actually needed.

Below I’ll list out all of the postpartum recovery essentials I decided to purchase. Anything in gold is a direct link to the product and I’ll link everything in pictures at the end as well! If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment, email me at sweetstyleofmineblog@gmail.com , or DM me on Instagram ( @sweetstyleofmineblog ).

What I bought as Postpartum Recovery Essentials

Frida Mom postpartum recover essentials kit

Comes with:

  • 4 pair of disposable undies
  • 4 instant ice maxi pads (heard these are a must!)
  • pack of witch hazel cooling pad liners
  • witch hazel perineal healing foam

All of these items are recommended so it’s nice that they come in a pre-made kit you can bring with you to the hospital!

Frida Mom upside down peri bottle

This was the most recommended item from other moms! Makes it easy to rinse before / after using the restroom and you don’t have to stick your hand in the toilet. Hospital will provide you with a standard one, but this one is definitely worth the $15.

Earth Mama perineal spray + balm

Both of these items have fantastic reviews! The spray is mainly used after using the restroom to cool & calm irritation and the balm can be used anytime throughout the day to help with pain / healing.

Hot & Cold postpartum therapy packs

This one is specifically designed to fit in / over your undies like a pad. I like that it’s a 2-pack so I can keep one in the freezer and one out to heat up in the microwave. Also comes with disposable protective pads.

Disposable Undies

The Frida Mom postpartum kit comes with 4 pair, but I went ahead and ordered another pack of 12 to keep extras on hand. There are tons out there to choose from, I picked this one because it had good reviews and a cute design I thought would be a tiny pick-me-up 🙂

Large Comfortable Stretchy Underwear

You’ll want to have a pack or two of very comfy, stretchy undies on hand after delivery to fit maxi pads + you don’t want to be wearing anything tight after giving birth. I plan to use the disposable undies at first and then swap to the cozy high-waisted Amazon ones I purchased. They were super affordable so I’m not worried if I need to toss them afterwards.

Maxi Pads + Light Flow Pads

I’ve been told to have some of those super strength maxi pads on had for the first week or so and then lots of light flow pads for the week or two after that. Linked my two favorites here!

Tylenol / Pain Releiver

Last but not least just make sure to have some Tylenol or another over-the-counter pain reliever on hand for recovery!
