Guys, Christmas in July is almost here!! AKA the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (or NSALE)! 🙂 This will only be my second time shopping the sale but I had an amazing experience last time and am so excited for this year’s sale! Sharing all sale info below along with my tips for shopping the sale and my top 10 items I purchased last year.
What is the NSALE?
First off, if you have not shopped the sale before you’re probably wondering what in the heck it is and why all us bloggers care about it? Basically the NSALE is a huge fall clothing sale in the middle of the summer. May sound a tad crazy but this is the perfect time to stock up on all things fall before the season starts! Also, most of the items on sale are brand new for the season / have never been sold before. Not very often do you see brand new clothes marked down this low before the season even starts.

- July 9th: Icon Pre-Shop in Stores
- July 10th – 11th: Icon & Ambassador Pre-Shop in Stores
- July 11th: Icon & Ambassador Pre-Shop Online
- July 12th – 18th: Early Access for Nordstrom Cardmembers in Store and Online
- July 19th – August 4th: Public Access in Store and Online
* NOTE: All sale start times are 12:30 pm EST online and local opening times in-store
How to Shop the Sale
Early Access
You must spend a certain amount with Nordstrom to achieve Icon / Ambassador level to pre-shop, but you can shop Early Access by simply owning a Nordstrom Credit Card. Currently if you sign up for a Nordstrom Card you can get a $60 bonus note if you use your card the same day you’re approved. You can apply for a Nordstrom Credit Card HERE.
* NOTE: You do not have to use your Nordstrom Credit Card during the sale. You simply have to be a cardholder to access the sale and can checkout via any method of payment.
Public Access
Once Public Access starts anyone can shop the sale! When shopping the sale last year I noticed that a lot of items sold out pretty quickly but most were re-stocked throughout the Public Access dates. If there is something you really want just keep your eye open for those re-stocks! I will also be posting re-stock info on my Instagram Stories throughout the sale (@sweetstyleofmineblog).
From what I have heard about this year’s sale, Nordstrom has scaled back on the number of items offered but has increased the quantity of the items / color options that are offered, so hopefully items will not sell out so quickly this year!
Shopping Strategy
This is a huge sale and you can get overwhelmed pretty easily. What I did last year (online shopping) was take a first look at everything and items I knew I loved / wanted I immediately put into my cart and then checked out. Then I went back through and did a second, more thorough look at everything and decided if there was anything else I wanted to get. Since items sell out quickly, if there is something you want (especially during public access!), immediately put it in your cart and checkout! I had items sitting in my cart last year that sold out before I checked out and it was such a bummer.
Also, if you are shopping online and not sure about sizing I suggest ordering multiple sizes to make sure you get one that fits you well. Nordstrom offers free shipping AND free returns, so don’t be afraid to do this! You can always return the sizes that end up not fitting.

Nordstrom offers a ton of different shipping options, the biggest one being free standard shipping and returns on everything! I’m listing all other options below:

- Next Business Day: $20
- Saturday Delivery: $35
- Buy Online Pickup In Store: FREE (only offered on certain items, curbside pickup available if you have the Nordstrom app!)
- Same Day Delivery: $15 (only offered in certain areas, click HERE to check if yours is included)
- Online or In Store Returns: Always Free!
Is The Sale Worth It?
My answer to this is definitely yes! You can get amazing, high quality Fall / Winter pieces at huge discounts during this sale. I will admit that I definitely got too excited last year and overspent. I bought a lot of clothes that I ended up only wearing a few times or not at all.
So, just have a strategy going into the sale. If you know you are looking for a new coat, boots, cardigan, etc., focus on looking for those items! Don’t get sucked into buying everything just because they are on sale [definitely guilty of doing this last year :)].
