There are so many cute striped outfits for spring and I’m obsessing over all of them! First off, I love stripes because you can play with dimension and color without going for a crazy print (I’m not big on prints). I especially love multi-color striped tops because you can play around pairing them with different pants / skirts, as well as, use your accessories to pull out a pop of color.
Horizontal vs Vertical Stripes
I am definitely more of a fan of vertical stripes, especially because I am so petite. I feel that it makes me look taller when I wear them vertically, and they really look very flattering on all body tops when worn this way. Now, that’s not to say that I don’t own items with horizontal stripes (see Old Navy dress below). When I do buy pieces with horizontal stripes, they are usually very thin stripes or very thick color blocks. I also pay close attention to the shape of the dress if I am buying it with horizontal stripes; if it is super baggy and has big stripes there is a good chance it’s not going to look flattering on me.
So, in conclusion, (if you couldn’t tell already) I am very much into stripes for spring, especially in pretty pastel colors. I’ve linked some of my favorites below along with some amazing accessories that won’t break the bank! (Outfit details are below the last picture in the outfit set)
