I was introduced to SheIn last year by my husband’s cousin. She told me she found a website that offers a ton of cute clothing for women and all at super affordable prices. I ended up going on their website to check it out and added a bunch of cute stuff to my cart but due to the low prices and knowing it was a Chinese based website / online store I was skeptical and didn’t end up buying the clothes.
A few months ago when I started blogging and following more fashion bloggers on Instagram I noticed a lot of them would feature pieces from SheIn and they were really pretty! I decided to finally buy around 12 items and see how I liked them. My first shopping experience with SheIn was really great and I definitely learned what to do and not to do when purchasing clothing from them. So, here is my guide to shopping with SheIn:

1.) Read the Reviews
I think this is definitely the most important part when buying from SheIn. They have really thorough reviews and most of them include pictures. If you want the honest answer to whether or not a piece is worth buying, these reviews are key. Now, if an item has iffy reviews but you are absolutely in love with it, give it a try! SheIn offers returns (sometimes free!) so there is no harm in trying an item out.

2.) Get a Measuring Tape and Check the Size Guide (per item)
Each piece of clothing has its own size guide listed and it varies per item. Make sure to have a soft measuring tape on hand to check your sizing against the guide (a super affordable option from Amazon is linked HERE). Their size guides are very accurate as long as you take the time to check them against your measurements!

3.) Use PayPal at Checkout
If you don’t already have a PayPal account, now is the time to get one. It’s SO much safer to use PayPal at checkout instead of just entering your credit card number because it adds an extra layer of protection. Now, I’m not saying that your credit card number will get stolen if you enter it directly on SheIn, but, since it is a Chinese based website and they are notorious for hacking into accounts and stealing credit card information (all 3 times my number was stolen it was from someone in China) it is better to play it safe. PayPal is 100% free to sign up and you don’t get charged anything extra when you use it to shop online. You can find the link to sign up for PayPal HERE.

4.) Check the Return Policy
When you shop with SheIn for the first time your first return is also free. After that they deduct $7.99 if you send a return, however, a lot of the time if you spend a certain amount on your order they give you free returns. Note that the following items are not eligible for returns with SheIn:
-
-
- Bodysuits
- Lingerie & Sleepwear
- Swimwear
- Jewelry
- Accessories (except scarves, bags, and mermaid blankets)
-
I’ve done two returns with them (both free) and each time was a good experience. When making a return, make sure to select ‘Back to my Original Payment Method’ when filling out your online return form or else they will just give you ‘SheIn credit’ when your return is received. You can find their entire return policy HERE.

5.) Quality of Clothing
I’m sure everyone is wondering if the clothes are good quality since they are so cheap, and I have a not-so-perfect answer to that. For the most part, yes. For the price you are paying the quality is good. However, I have received some items that were not up to my standards that I did send back (only 4 or 5 items out of the 25 or so I have ordered). Again, this is where checking the reviews comes into play. People are very honest on the reviews and it should give you a good idea of what you will be receiving.
And honestly, I know this isn’t a great answer, but it can be hit or miss! I ordered one shirt for $5 that I expected to be not-so-great quality and it ended up being amazing, and a piece I spent a little more money on ended up not being so great. As long as you are ok with their return policy and read the reviews I 100% encourage you to give an item a try.

6.) Check for Coupon Codes
Always, ALWAYS check for coupon codes for SheIn before checking out! Since you can only use one at a time I highly suggest signing up for Honey (link HERE) to check for the best code. After signing up, download the Google Chrome extension (if you use Chrome as your web browser) and then click the Honey extension during checkout. It will automatically filter through all available coupon codes and apply the best one! Basically Honey makes it 10x easier by doing the work for you 🙂
