Since the Sephora Spring Savings event is going on right now, I wanted to go ahead and share my evening skin care routine since most of the products I use are on sale. I have a pretty quick and easy process I go through, I’m usually too tired take a ton of time out of my evening to get ready for bed.

Below I’ll list out each step of my evening skin care routine and all of the products I use. Some of the items are a little pricier, but they are products that last me MONTHS and work really well, so the cost is worth it to me. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment below, email me at sweetstyleofmineblog@gmail.com, or send me a message on Instagram!

Step 1: Remove Makeup / Cleanse

Drunk Elephant Slaai™ Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser

I stopped using makeup removing wipes about 8 months ago and it was one for the best decisions I’ve ever made (no, I’m not exaggerating)! Makeup wipes tend to have a lot of chemicals in them and are rough on your skin, and they left my face feeling irritated & dried out. I switched to using a cleansing balm instead and LOVE it!

I’ve tried a few different cleansing balms, and the Drunk Elephant Slaai™ Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser is by far my favorite and the one I continue to use. I love how easily it takes off my makeup and how great my skin feels afterwards! It’s also a two-in-one makeup remover and cleanser, so it also saves me a lot of time. No more have to rub a wipe all over my face and then use a face wash and splash water all over my sink.

To use the cleansing balm, use the provided spoon to scrape out a nickel size amount and work it into your skin. You should instantly see your makeup start to ‘melt’. I typically leave it on my skin for about 3 min and brush my teeth while I wait, but you can take it off right away if you want to. To remove it, I wet a makeup eraser or wash cloth with warm water and just wipe everything off my face. (NOTE: By a seperate set of wash cloths to remove your makeup because they will stain. I got a cheap, cute set from Home Goods.) Your makeup should easily come off and your face should feel smooth and squeaky clean!

Step 2: Toner

Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner

To ensure I removed all of my makeup, and clear out any remaining dirt from my skin, I follow-up with a toner. Toners are also known to help balance the pH of your skin and helps control acne. I use the Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner.

To use the toner I simply take a cotton round and put a small amount of the product on it, then wipe across my face. There is no need to rinse off the toner I have!

Step 3: Serums

Beautycounter® Overnight Resurfacing Peel

Twice a week I apply this AHA/BHA peel to improve skin texture and minimizes the appearance of pores, fine lines, and dark spots. It costs a bit more, but you only need to use a tiny tiny bit each time so it lasts forever. Leaves my skin feeling baby soft the next morning and doesn’t dry it out!

NOTE: I recently bought this one from The Ordinary that is super affordable and from the reviews should give the same benefits!

Peter Thomas Roth PRO Strength Retinoid Peptide Serum

Ok, yes this serum is expensive… Is it worth it? YES! I’ve had the same bottle for 6 months now and am finally about to run out, so when I divide the cost over the 6 months it is 100% worth it to me. This is by far the best anti-aging serum I have tried and I’ve seen a huge difference in my skin since I started using it. You only need to apply a little bit each night, and don’t forget to apply it to your neck along with your face!

If you are looking for more affordable options, The Ordinary has a TON of amazing products!

Step 4: Moisturize

Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer

My face has been really dried out lately due to an acne cream I was using, so I decided to give this moisturizer a try a few weeks ago and I LOVE it!! By far my favorite moisturizer I’ve tried. I have very sensitive, acne prone skin and it did not break me out at all. If anything, my acne has been better since I started using it!

Moisture Surge Overnight Mask

Once my moisturizer has mostly sunk into my skin, I then apply this overnight mask. This mask helps lock in moisture and it has helped my skin SO much! I now wake up with smooth, soft skin instead of dry patches.

Step 5: Eye Cream

First Aid Beauty Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream with Triple Hyaluronic Acid

I struggled for over a year to find an eye cream I felt was truly effective, then I found this FAB Retinol Eye Cream and I’ve been using it since! I’ve noticed a huge improvement in the fine lines under my eyes and the skin elasticity.

Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb

So, even though I love the above eye cream and have seen huge improvements from it, it is not the most moisturizing eye cream. I use the Moisturizing Eye Bomb as my morning eye cream, as well as at night over top of the FAB one. It really helps lock in moisture and leaves my under eyes feeling super soft.

Others

Exfoliating: Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator

Twice a week I use this Microdermabrasion Exfoliator to clear away dead skin. I only use it in the shower when my skin is soft and pores are open from the warm water and steam. There are tons of exfoliators out there, this one is my favorite!

Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops

Twice a week I mix in a few of these self tanning drops with my moisturizer. It helps to give my skin a natural glow and I feel like I can wear less makeup because of it. It has never caused me to break out! I use the color dark and typically use about 3 drops each time.
