We moved into our house just over 4 years ago and for those 4 years our guest bedroom was a random mix of décor I had nowhere else to put. The room also ended up being a dumping ground for unfolded laundry and random things we had around the house. I wanted to finally update the room and have a cohesive look, but the room doesn’t get used often so I didn’t want to spend a ton of money. Enter operation affordable guest bedroom makeover.
For about two months I stalked sales at different department stores for bedding and pillows. I was able to get a super soft queen down comforter for only $18 at Macy’s and the pillows + duvet cover set I picked were 30% off at Target! Also during those two months I stopped at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, and Kirkland’s to snag décor while it was on sale. I was so excited to find this gorgeous silver textured painting on clearance at Kirkland’s! (only $40) I also picked up a few things from Amazon for this affordable guest bedroom makeover.
I’m SO happy with how everything turned out! It now looks like everything belongs in the room and it has a cohesive feel. I didn’t change the furniture, but the new bedding and rustic, cozy décor made a HUGE difference! You definitely don’t have to break the bank to makeover a space.
